My Project

After almost 20 years of working at the Albert D. Holland School of Technology (Formerly Jeremiah E. Burke High School), in Boston, I will be assuming an exciting new role as Instructional Transformation Coach.

In this new work, I will be supervising and coaching teachers.

I'll be fortunate to meet monthly with other coaches across the district to learn the art of coaching but these books will add another layer to my professional learning.

All titles that I have requested have been recommended by school and district leaders in Boston. Many of the titles were recommended by multiple people.

The Essential Guide for Student-Centered Coaching will be a great resource to guide teachers into thinking deliberately about their plans and moves to ensure all students experience success in the classroom. Holland Tech is a full inclusion school which means that each class includes learners with a diverse skill set. I'm hoping this text will help me better support teachers to meet students where they are.

Engaging in Culturally Relevant Math Tasks will be an essential for me! As a former English teacher, I'm always looking for materials to use to support math teachers. They make up our largest department and I'm looking forward to adding a fresh layer to the work they are doing in the math classroom.

Collectively, this new library will support me in supporting teachers in grades 9-12. My requests for sweets will help sweeten the experience with the teachers I meet with. It's always nice to have a little sweet treat during the day.
