Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing; they have an overwhelming desire to learn. They love to learn new things and share their ideas, opening their minds and hearts to accept the world around them. They have so many bright and loving personalities.

I teach at a Title I school in the Bronx where many of my students receive free breakfast and lunch; despite the hardships, they face at home my students come to school ready and eager to learn about the world around them.

My Project

My students are on many different academic levels. Many students require materials that require them to have visual support. Some need help in ELA to help them to generate thinking. . The math materials ordered will help the students use what they know to assist them in learning what they do not know.

Struggling mathematicians and readers tend to look for visuals that allow them to advance from there

Students who use visuals tend to be able to explain their thinking in math and discuss their reasoning. Students who use language prompts are helped to connect their understanding to what is prompted. My students will love the opportunity to have manipulatives as well as prompts to activate their thinking in English Language Arts.
