Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 2nd graders live in an urban neighborhood in Los Angeles. They thrive in our STEM school while forming strong connections with their teachers and classmates.

Because of the pandemic which closed our school, my students have been learning alone from home.

My Project

As a teacher, my biggest challenge during school closures was managing and executing a clear online connection with my students. We switched from learning in person to learning remotely in a weekend. My biggest challenge was getting my students online.

Now that all my students are remotely online, I need equipment that will send a clear audio and video signal to their devices.

I am requesting a microphone and lighting so that students may see and hear me clearly. I am requesting a green screen and stand to lessen the visual distractions. With a document camera, I can clearly display text and illustrations from books.
