Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love my ESL kindergarten students. They are so energetic and have a love of learning. The crayons will inspire creativity, listening area materials will help increase their language skills, clipboards will help them take notes. Please help me continue to foster their natural love of learning

I have 22 beautiful kindergarten students who come from Spanish speaking backgrounds.

They have a strong desire for learning. They enjoy listening to stories and are learning so many new things such as how to talk about books and make connections with the stories they hear. I try to instill a love of books by reading interesting stories that will help engage their thinking and ones that they could learn from.

My Project

Having the materials requested would be an added plus in our classroom. The listening area would allow more students to listen to stories together, the baskets would help us stay organized, the clip boards would be used to take notes on post its during a read aloud, and be used to take class surveys and go on nature walks to observe plants and everyday things in our neighborhood, the erasers would help us erase our work when using our slates versus wasting paper when erasing the slates. And last but not least, and the crayons would depict the beautiful shades of colors we have in our classroom.

These donations will make my class more suitable for English language learners.

It help us stay organized, it would enhance our interactive writing sessions where students wold be able to have their own erasers and it would teach them that their skins are much more than just red, orange or blue and they would appreciate their culture and diversity.
