My Project

As a teacher, I don’t just want my students to acquire knowledge. I also want them to grow up emotionally mature.

A diverse social-emotional learning library has the ability to generate conversations, build emotional literacy, and provide texts that encourage students to express themselves.

I plan on incorporating social-emotional Read Alouds in my classroom as a way to create a more positive learning environment. I want to teach my students the importance of feeling safe when they express themselves, of being respected, and of responding in kind. With the right social-emotional learning books, I can make this happen for the kids in my class.
