Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a public kindergarten through eighth-grade school in a high-poverty, urban community in New Jersey. They love playing outside but we have no playground equipment.

Due to Covid, we have been spending as much times outdoors as possible--but we are limited to being in an empty lot.

If we had two climbing caterpillar tunnels, my students could enjoy being outdoors in a whole new way!

My Project

My students love to run and play outdoors, especially during these times where it is the safest place for them to be. However we are limited without any outdoor equipment.

This fun caterpillar structure is the perfect piece of equipment for my students to climb on and explore inside.

It would add a colorful and exciting new dynamic to our schoolyard and make it feel more welcoming and engaging. I know all my students would love to play on this equipment and it would be enjoyed by many children for years to come.
