This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a Title I school, I face many challenges to help my students succeed. However, each student who enters my classroom has such a love of learning and a desire to be successful. Inside the classroom, I have students from multiple grade levels at the same time. Station-based learning is consistently going on to meet the needs of the students.

These incredible learners are scientists, mathematicians, authors, readers, engineers, and thinkers.

Your donation will help these little minds access resources and technology to improve their learning on a daily basis. Each student comes in with different backgrounds, interests, and language abilities. Meeting their individual needs is my goal. Your generosity will help my students and me achieve new goals.

My Project

With the help of DonorsChoose and generous donors, we have developed a one-to-one device classroom in which each student has their own iPad to use in the classroom. This has ensured equal access to technology and district-provided digital platforms.

However, as we use these devices in new ways, students need a Bluetooth mouse to have better control while using programs such as PowerPoint.

This project will give each student their own Bluetooth mouse to use with their iPad. For example, students were creating digital posters on PowerPoint discussing the rights and responsibilities of being a U.S. citizen. Unfortunately, students became frustrated when trying to change and select the text boxes using only the touch screen. Being able to use the mouse will relieve these frustrations because students can use the mouse to being to select and change the text as they are working. This is important because we need to develop academic skills and technology skills.
