My Students

I teach at a Title I K-8 span school in which all of our students receive free breakfast, lunch, and an after school meal. Our community consists of hard-working families who believe in the importance of education and support our school by volunteering, attending parent workshops, and donating school supplies as much as possible. My 25 energetic and motivated students come to school every day ready to do their best.

Together, we are working to build a classroom community full of empathy, perseverance, and independence.

As a school, our mission is to instill a love of learning, build character, and give students the necessary skills to pursue their dreams. Our students understand that in order to succeed, you have to put in the work. Awesome takes practice!

My Project

The vacuum and mop will help keep our floors clean and help out our custodians who have taken on extra duties during this pandemic. Currently, they are only able to vacuum twice a week and are unable to mop on a regular basis. With our own vacuum and mop, we will be able to do this on a daily basis and save our custodians some time -and have the cleanest floors on campus!

It's an opportunity to teach my students how to be responsible and respectful, two of our school's character traits we try to instill on a daily basis.

It's our own mess, we need to clean it up ourselves!

My students already take turns sweeping our floors at the end of the day. However, it's difficult to keep our area rug clean without a vacuum. This project will help enhance students' sense of responsibility and respect toward their community and environment.
