My Project
My 9th-grade students are exceptional learners—full of potential, personality, and perseverance. They attend a Title 1 high school in a low socio-economic area, and all receive special education services for mild to moderate learning disabilities. While they face academic challenges, many are also quietly battling personal ones, including access to basic hygiene products like deodorant and body wash.
As the weather warms up, staying clean and feeling fresh becomes even more important.
For students already navigating self-esteem issues and social pressure, having hygiene essentials can make a huge difference. It’s not just about staying clean—it’s about showing up to school with dignity, confidence, and the ability to focus on learning instead of worrying about how they smell or what their peers might say.
