My Students

Our schools serve students who attend District 75 in the NYC public school system. These unique learners have moderate to severe disabilities and we take pride in individualizing our learning environments to adapt to the needs of each child. Our amazing students are incoming Kindergarteners-1st graders who have Autism or some form of an Intellectual Disability. These students have unique needs that include but are not limited to sensory processing disorders, fleeting attention spans and over-stimulatory behaviors, which makes remote learning a challenge for our special learners.

My Project

Help my staff and I continue the efforts of a safe and healthy environment for our learners! Our students who are on the Spectrum are learning self care skills that will be useful throughout the school environment, at home and for the rest of their lives. We practice hand washing several times a day. In addition to hand washing, they are learning other basic life skills such as toileting. This can be a challenge for many of our students and they need full support from us to ensure that they are cleaned thoroughly, especially after a bowel movement. Having items such as gloves and soap will reduce contamination for all.
