My Project

The faculty at MAST@FIU is committed to providing our students with all the supplies they need to have a healthy school year, in a classroom that is clean and free from substances that contribute to absences from school, especially as the flu season approaches.

As we have seen from the recent pandemic, sanitized surfaces are vital for the general health and well-being of everyone.

At the end of each of my classes, students use antibacterial wipes to clean all workstations for the next class. We also use these wipes to clean high-touch areas.

A light-weight vacuum cleaner will be a welcome addition to the classroom. We currently have a broom and dustpan, but when students are working on certain projects, the time to clean up the floor in preparation for the next class period is time-consuming. A vacuum cleaner will also reduce the amount of dust particles in the atmosphere, which may contribute to sinus or asthma-related illnesses.

Washable microfiber dusters will be useful for quick cleanup of workbenches and countertops when mild dusting is required. Since the dusters are washable, they will serve the classroom for years to come.

Kleenex™ tissues are a mainstay in every classroom, especially during the cooler months as the flu season starts. Tissues will help to minimize the transmittal of bodily fluids, keeping students safe, well, and present in school.

Your generous donation of these supplies will help keep students safe from viruses and bacteria which are transmitted through contact with surfaces.
