My Project

As a teacher in a Title I elementary school, I find myself not providing the vital tools for all my learners. More than seventy percent of our campus receives free or reduced-priced lunch, and a lot of my students don't have access to the technology outside of the classroom. My inquisitive, active learners are constantly reaching out to equip their knowledge for a successful future.

A tradition of Lunar New Year is to clean all the previous year's bad luck and dirt before the new year starts.

The Roomba vacuum us to get our classroom ready for the new year of good luck. The vacuum will allow for a clean classroom and help to minimize the spread of germs. At our school, classrooms only gets vacuumed once a week. My classroom has four rugs, one small library rug, a large rug (where we do most of our learning), a large play area rug, and a small play area rug. If you are familiar with five and six-year-olds, they are little but can make a big mess. A simple craft activity which involves cutting can end with hundreds of little pieces of paper on the floor. At this age, students are learning how to use scissors and have not mastered their fine motor skills which leads to lots of practice and lots of messes. It is important to keep and maintain a clean and tidy classroom environment. It also reduces allergy and asthma triggers. The most important benefit of a clean classroom is the fact that it maximizes the learning experience of the students.
