My Students

I teach fourth and fifth grade Title I reading in one of the best rural schools in Oklahoma. My students are a diverse group with varied levels of learning that are pulled out daily to learn new reading skills in our reading intervention lab. Our classroom is a space where students enjoy coming to learn. We are a Title I school with the majority of our students receiving free lunch.

Distance learning may be a new world to conquer, but together we will achieve and succeed!

They love to read, and many have requested assistance to help them stay on top of their skills during this time at home. Although we cannot meet in person, the next best thing will be for me to provide them engaging opportunities to use at home now and throughout the summer.

My students have curiosity, creativity, compassion, and positive attitudes. They are truly amazing people. Together, we will make the most out of this situation and continue to make learning fun!

My Project

My students are doing their best during these difficult times. Even before the pandemic, many would arrive at class hungry, making learning even more difficult. I know that many struggle at home with hungry tummies as well. But, they all work hard and give it their best.

These yummy, healthy snacks will be distributed in their supply bags, whether to use in class, or to take home and enjoy during distance learning.

This will help alleviate a little bit of the stress that comes with working remotely, or arriving to class hungry. My students will be thrilled to receive the beef jerky, beef sticks, Terra chips, Veggie chips, Jolly Ranchers, and Pirate's Booty snacks! We will use the cleaning spray to make sure their area is clean when they have their snacks, and to clean the take home goody bags we will use during distance learning.
