Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic kids with a love of learning. At least 90% of them come from low-income households, with parents struggling to pay rent and get food on the table. And yet, these children still want to create, read, write, and learn!

My students are worried about food and shelter, but they are sheltering in place with basic classroom necessities that provide them with some normalcy, allowing them to participate in class online.

I am trying to meet my students' needs emotionally, as well as academically, during this pandemic. I want them to be safe and stay healthy as they work hard to learn to read, learn to use technology, and at the same time, learn language arts, math, and science.

My Project

We do not know what school will look like in the fall, but we all agree that we want to keep our children safe. While being in the classroom will help our children to be more actively engaged in learning, our children and parents need to know that we are doing the best we can to keep our children healthy as well.

An H13 HEPA Air Filtration System will purify the air in my classroom so that we can have a healthy environment to learn during this COVID-19 pandemic.

The Medify MA-40 will provide my students with greater protection against COVID-19. In addition, it catches allergens, dust mites, pollen, toxic odors, smoke, lead dust, asbestos, virus carriers, and more. This air purifier is a medical-grade filtration system that will help to provide a healthier environment for my kids so that they can focus on learning.
