My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds. They have varying strengths and weaknesses in the school curriculum. We have many students on the autism spectrum that are detail oriented, show an aptitude for the arts, and are very enthusiastic about all the arts and everything that it has to offer them.

They have shown their teachers that they learn best when they are engaged and having fun.

Learning about music with a hands-on approach is very important in my attempt to keep them active and engaged.

My Project

"Creativity is your mind having fun" is probably one of my favorite quotes! However, creativity can also make a huge mess! We need basic cleaning supplies to keep our music room clean for ourselves and the multiple classes that use our room. We also need copy paper, toner, and dry erase markers for other music making activities that we will be involved in this year.

Part of being a responsible student is cleaning up after yourself after a round of drum or maraca making, coffee can bongo construction, or twine tub drum creation.

With these basic cleaning materials and school supplies, we will stay healthy, clean, and engaged throughout the school year.
