it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are always eager to learn new things. This past year, I introduced my elementary art and middle school photography students to modeling clay and creating characters out of the clay. They absolutely loved it. They looked forward to coming to art or photography class and working on their clay pieces. I was excited to teach them as much as I could with the clay medium. It was especially great for my middle school photography students because I had them create a stop-motion video using their clay characters. They had to make their clay characters move and do something in a 40 second film. However, they struggled with their set designs, consistent light, and lack of stable surfaces for their phones in order to film their videos. As a result, their videos did not look as good as they could have been. Therefore, I would like to add stations to my classroom with light boxes and tripods at each station to control the light and set design in their videos. I also need more clay and journals for storyboarding to make these claymations come to life. This will ensure success in each claymation video as well as renewed confidence and pride in their work.
