Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 40 amazing and academically gifted elementary scholars. They enter my classroom with big smiles, are happy, and are ready to learn. Many students that come to our school do not speak English. We also have exceptional students included in our class.
We are a Global Magnet, Title I school serving 65% of low-income families who speak limited English.
We offer Mandarin Chinese and Spanish to our students. Our school also serves families whose parents work multiple jobs to help make ends meet.
My Project
Having writing journal books will help me keep my students engaged in their writing. We will use the journal books to capturing moments throughout the day as students are being creative in their writing. The journal books will also be used for students to create paintings and art work. Students will create poems and illustrate the poems using marker, colored pencils, and other art supplies. The calendar will be used for students to keep up with assignments and the due dates.
Journaling will help students with their thoughts by incorporating writing with art.
