My Project

Through building a set of classroom terrariums, as well as designing their own miniature terrariums students will have hand-on experience with a living ecosystem. The terrariums will allow students to see ecological cycles in action, deepening their understanding of food chains, biogeochemical cycles, as well as principles of conservation. Through observing the completed terrariums, students will gain insight into how the biosphere functions and the importance of maintaining a balanced system.

The goal of this project is to inspire students to connect with the natural world and to understand the role humans play in the conservation of life on Earth, our home.

By creating their own miniature living worlds, students will learn all life is interconnected, how organisms depend on their environment, and how our actions contribute to a larger impact in preserving our planet's resources.

My students are curious, and enthusiastic learners who thrive when given opportunities for hands-on projects. They come from diverse backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives and ideas to the classroom. They are eager to explore the world around them in new and meaningful ways. I believe this project will be an amazing opportunity for them to engage, and shine in the classroom.
