This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The school I teach at is a Title I school and the majority of our families are considered low income. These supplies will take the burden of purchasing new supplies off the families and make it so all students have the same supplies to use each day. I never want a student to worry if they don't have a pencil.
I work with a diverse population of students who have varying needs and benefit from interactive lessons.
The supplies that are being requested include a new keyboard, Kleenex, glue, and pencils. These are items that are heavily used daily. I want to make sure they have everything they need to be successful at school and not have to worry about how they will get it.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
