Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Nervous, anxious... these are feelings that some students, and even the teacher feels when they begin the school year. Will they have what they need? Will I have it if they don't?

My students are from a low-income community and many are unable to afford the basic supplies needed to become successful learners.

Our school has eliminated the funding for such supplies. This cut will make it difficult for me to supply my classroom with resources the students may need for various lessons and activities.

My Project

Group, as well as hands-on activities, have been very successful in my classroom which is why we need the literacy games. Having supplies for those who may not be able to obtain them helps to make sure that each student has an equal opportunity to learn. I want to able to provide them with a comfortable learning environment that will encourage them to work as a community of learners, working to become critical thinkers and life long learners.
