My Students

The 12 students in my third/fourth grade self-contained classroom are enthusiastic about learning and exploring the world. Not only do they look forward to my instruction, they anticipate the rich knowledge they collectively bring to the classroom. They motivate one another with their supportive words and generosity.

It is important that my students receive the best educational experience in an environment that fosters creativity, supports all learning needs and sustains their overall well-being.

My students are a diverse group. They have a range of academic and emotional needs.

My Project

My 11 students are active, mostly kinesthetic learners. They enjoy learning and look forward to sharing their ideas with one another. During writing, my students prefer to write their drafts on loose-leaf paper, take notes and jot ideas on post-its, and then use colored paper to complete their final writing piece.

In math, the boys and girls use personal white boards and dry erase markers to write color-coded equations and draw models.

They look forward to playing teacher-made math and literacy games during our math workshop and writing/reading workshop. The laminating pouches will not only allow me to create a variety of center games/activities, but they will allow me to provide students with games that they can take home and play with their families.
