Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a group of strong, passionate, and eager diverse students that are so excited to come back in-person learning this school year after facing many changes and challenges with learning virtually. I teach in high-poverty section of New York located in the Bronx with very limited resources. 100% of our students qualify to receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students don't even have the resources to further their learning at home.

However, with a little creativity each student helps one another in order to further challenge their thinking.

Each of my students learns through many different learning styles. It is very important to have the right tools to accommodate and continuously meet their needs either visually, auditory, or with many hands-on activities/projects that will help each student to stimulate their minds and encourage their exploration of many new learning concepts. I want to do everything I can to further support my students to accomplish their academic goals and success in life.

My Project

The classroom supplies chosen for this project are materials that are in high need to support every student’s learning experience. Each student will have their own bag of supplies such as paper, glue, erasers, Expo markers, and headphones to use during center, and other supplies of the sort that will have great use during every subjective lessons.

All supplies will help every student to stay fully engaged and to try their very best.

These supplies will also help me to create anchor charts that will allow each student to reflect the discussions we have during our mini-lessons.
