Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Special Education classroom is made up of students with a variety of learning and behavioral needs ranging from Autism, ADHD, and visual and auditory processing disorders. This wide variety of learning needs means I need to design adapted lessons that meet each learner where they are.
Providing my Special Education students with classroom supplies like printer ink, chart paper, dry-erase markers, and organizational tools will allow me to create visual schedules, behavior charts, incentive boards, and anchor reference charts my students can use daily to increase their understanding of lesson content.
My goal is to be able to use these supplies to ensure all my learners understand our daily lessons and have appropriate support materials like personalized reference sheets for math and language arts to encourage self-advocacy and confidence while skill building.
