My Students

In just a few weeks, my classroom will be comprised of 12 special and incredible students. Being that this classroom style is a bit different than a typical classroom, I will have the ability to truly individualize each child's education. With that said, I am looking to add tools and materials that will help me design and create the most efficient classroom possible for my students.

I want our classroom to be comfortable, friendly, and organized so my students feel safe and are excited to learn!

While I have furniture and access to brand new technology in my classroom, there are some pieces to the puzzle that are missing, in order to make the room a wonderful learning environment. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

My Project

Last year was my first year teaching in a 12:1:1 for grades K/1/2. While it was the most rewarding and eye-opening year of my career, I learned about the different needs of my students and that they need more interactive and accessible tools to support the current curriculum. I found myself making new games, tools, and supplies for every subject, multiple times a week, in order to support my students.

This year, by adding phonics tools and math tools, as well as some flexible seating to support small group work, I know I will be even more prepared for my students!

Being that the kids are emergent readers, we are in need of the B & C level texts, as well as, the CVC touch and read set. Additionally, adding the addition match-up games to our centers, will support their growth in mathematics!

The most exciting add is the new flexible seating cushions. The kids are frequently in small groups with me, the classroom para, or playing educational games or reading independently. This will bring a whole new comfort to our learning environment!
