My Students

"A grape bunch!" What a fitting description of my students! Having taught them this last year in the fourth grade, I am delighted to have them back again for their final year in elementary school. My students are defined by the effort they give each and every day.

This past year they have shown their willingness and determination to overcome challenges borne of their disabilities, to achieve wonderful academic success.

I could not be prouder of their results.

One of the things that is most admirable about my students is their generosity, their willingness to share and help one another. I have seen them carrying one another's bags, sharing their lunches, encouraging one another when the work gets more intense and engaging in great peer activities. Their passion for learning positively impacts mine for teaching. Nothing makes me happier than to see my "grape bunch" enthusiastic about learning.

My Project

"A workman is no good without his tools:, likewise a classroom cannot function without its basic supplies. My class is in desperate need of classroom supplies. One of the most essential things is an easel. My old one no longer stands! I use my easel for small group or large group instruction; for displaying of charts and at times to highlight student work. My students love the fact that I can pull my easel to them individually or in a group. Copy paper is used incessantly for classwork and homework activities, and I use my sticky pads for students' projects and experience charts once a concept is being taught. Pencils and markers have to be constantly replaced as both students and i use them consistently.
