This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My alternate to suspension class needs some supplies and organization materials to help students complete their classwork and projects, as well as feel comfortable while they are serving their in school suspension. These items will help them access appropriate supplies. They will also help the room look and feel more comfortable so they can complete their restorative projects and heal any harms they may have inflicted.

Each one of the students that enter my classroom have a different story, a different reason for coming to my alternate to suspension classroom.

Having a safe space that is comfortable during the time that they are in my class is improtant. This helps them concentrate on completing their normal classwork, as well as completing their restorative project.
