This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We moved! Recently, I have had the pleasure of moving to a bigger room to accommodate my art students. Unfortunately, this new room does not have a hook up for a sink. We use the sink for a number of projects but the biggest project we use it for is painting and ceramics. The students also use the sink to wash their hands from materials such as charcoal,clean their tools after use and clean off the tables after each class. This is vital in order to keep supplies like paint brushes clean and in workable condition. The art club uses the sink to clean their paint brushes as well when they are creating murals around the school. The floor we now located on does have access to a sink but this sink is in the staff restroom and is not easily accessible to students. Having a sink in the room will make it easier for students to maintain the classroom and care for the classroom materials. We will also be able to have more class time as students will not have to leave the classroom for clean up or have to wait their turn to clean their area. It will also be helpful in keeping the art room messes to the art room and not have them spill out to the hallway. Even though it is just a sink this will have a huge impact on management and maintenance of the art room.
