Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Middle School 12:1:1 Special Education teacher in a specialized public middle school in the South Bronx for Students with Disabilities, where 91% of student receive free or reduced priced lunch. My class consists of 12 students who are heartwarming and have a love of learning! My students have learning disabilities that range from Autism to Emotional Disturbance. My students benefits from having scaffolds, visuals, modeling and supports for their learning.

Curious, enthusiastic, and creative: my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, my students and their families continue to be impacted personally and economically. Families are still unable to supply their students financially. I want to ensure that my students will receive the proper care when they are in the classroom. I want them to have a safe, clean space so they are able to feel comfortable and have less fear about having germs in the classroom.

My Project

This air purifier will continue to enhance classroom cleanliness I strive to create for the students. I want students to continue to feel safe knowing our classroom environment is safe to be in. I want the worriedness, fears, and stress of my students to decrease knowing that there is an air purifier in the classroom. Though there is a lot of changes and uncertainty due toCovid-19, I want them to know that our classroom is in a safe condition to be in. Students will be able to participate in class more knowing that they are in safe hands. choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. Their fears will decrease because of the fact that an air purifier is in the classroom constantly cleaning the air they breathe in.

With this air purifier, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.

The air purifier in the classroom will filter the air to clean airborne pollutants and particles that are roaming around in the air. I want to improve the air quality in the classroom. Because air ventilations is heavily important in schools, I want to supply the students with an air purifier in their very own classroom.
