My Project

1.) My plan is to use the classroom rug for facilitating whole group discussions and learning. In first grade I implement most of my lessons on the rug where I am able to see, hear, and help with student participation and understanding. This item will also help with classroom routines and procedures as the individual circles on the rug help the students find their spots more easily whenever we need to transition to rug time.

2.) My goals for this project is to give each of my students the quality of instruction that they deserve, and I believe even something such as a classroom rug can contribute to this goal.

It can create a fun and inviting learning experience that will also add to the classroom aesthetically. I do a lot of phonics, writing and reading, and math lessons on the rug, so my students will be using it throughout the day.

3.) What makes my students special is their eagerness and excitement to learn, and a lot of their learning happens on the classroom rug. Each student comes with his or her strengths and needs, and I want to be the teacher that can support them in all aspects.
