Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Did you remember when you were in college and had to print out that paper that was due today but had printer problems at home and couldn't get a chance at school? Well my students don't even have printers to print from. Help us solve this problem

My students live in a high poverty area and dedicate no resources on things such as printers.

Their basic needs are barely met at home, far less for technological staples such as a printer, but the world doesn't stop getting more technically needy because of this.

My Project

With this printer, students will be able to print their projects and online resources that I will make available. This computer is also google cloud print ready so students would be able to print directly from google's virtual online suite, which is what most of them use. Furthermore, they can print from their house and have it ready for when they come into school. This also allows for further uses such as using spreadsheets in my math class and printing out results. The possibilities are only imaginative as of now. Another great aspect of this printer is the cheap ink that can be purchased on Amazon. I specifically chose it for this very reason. Empty cartridges can be recycled at staples for almost the same cost (in staples rewards) of the 3rd party ink, thus making the ink effectively free.

This project is important because it would really make students that much more high school and career ready.

Not only are there possibilities for great classroom lessons involving it, but it would help them learn responsibility in giving in papers on time, since you can't just forget a google word document at home.
