Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second grade students are excited to be in school every day. They are kind, thoughtful and are always looking to help one another. My students are inquisitive, attentive and eager to apply what they have learned throughout the day. We are a Title I school, therefore, all materials requested serve a diversity of students while incorporating inclusivity, fostering a sense of belonging, and equality in the classroom.

We need a solid mailbox for students to store and collect their assignments, 'take home' folders, homework, important notices, etc.

Assigning each student a mailbox will give my students a sense of responsibility and ownership over their folder and home communications. They are responsible for keeping their mailbox organized and retrieving their items at the end of the day. Overall, our classroom mailbox will be a useful tool for promoting organizational skills, accountability of work, communication, and independence. In an effort to make them feel successful, they will have everything they need in one place so they can place it safely inside their book bag without losing any papers.
