This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a 3rd-grade teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is made up of 70% ELL and 100% of them receive a free lunch and breakfast. .

I want to provide all the materials needed to help ensure that my future 3rd graders will have a positive and successful learning experience.

There is no better feeling as a teacher than when you do not have worry about providing your student with certain supplies. Being that my students come from low income households many of them are not able to provide themselves with supplies needed to help them stay successful in school. The communication folders will be used as homework folders that will help my students keep their daily work organized and ensuring any important paperwork I sent home stays nicely organized. I have added headphones, whiteboard markers, erasers that will be used on a daily basis. The stools and tables will be used as flexible seating. Our school is very big on collaboration and team building. The amazing carpet I have added will allow students to sit all together on a carpet and enjoy a nice read aloud from one of our favorite books. I also love watching the kids after a long day find themselves relaxing on a the carpet while working on their assignments. Having a classroom carpet will make such an amazing difference in the classroom learning.The rest of the supplies will be used throughout the classroom to help ensure that we have a successful school year.
