This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a 2nd-grade teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is made up of 70% ELL and 100% of them receive a free lunch and breakfast.As this school year is successfully coming to an end, it's always a bitter sweet moment being able to send your kiddos off to summer break and a new grade level. As teachers we are left to enjoy the summer break. However, there are other teachers like myself who are already planning for the next school year and thinking about what materials will be needing to make sure we have a successful learning experience.

I want to provide all the materials needed to help ensure that my future 2nd graders will have a positive and successful learning experience.

There is no better feeling as a teacher than when you do not have worry about providing your student with certain supplies. Being that my students come from low income households many of them are not able to provide themselves with supplies needed to help them stay successful in school. The pencil pouches will help keep my students supplies organized. I have added pencils, crayons, erasers that will be used on a daily basis. The amount of pencils teachers go throughout the year is crazy. The whiteboard clip boards will be used during our writing and reading blocks. The rest of the supplies will be used throughout the classroom to help keep us organized.
