My Project

I currently am teaching middle school and will be transitioning to elementary school (it is down the street from my current site which is closing due to enrollment). I am looking forward to meeting my new third grade class this August and want to be able to create a strong classroom library for them. The students I will be working with will be at a variety of reading levels due to various reasons. I want to have a wide range of children's books and novels for them to engage with and to help strengthen their reading skills. I want to meet them at their level but also challenge them to push themselves further with their reading.

These materials will also help make a difference in my students' learning because it will give them the opportunity to see themselves in the stories they hear in class.

I will also use the books to introduce and review different science and history topics. These books will help strengthen conceptual understanding of various science concepts.
