Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I would love to provide my class with a cozy, warm and welcoming home like library center. The current reading center does not have adequate seating for scholars. A new seating area, rug, and pillows would provide a safe and comfortable environment for scholars to enjoy reading on their own and with peers. The storage bench will not only provide an area for students to read, but also provide storage for books etc. Adding bins to the storage area would provide a neat and clean space for books organized by topic, leveled books and material storage. The goal is for our literacy center to look inviting like a bookstore!

We hope that you can help us to spark a love of reading in fourth grade with this brand new library arrangement!

This furniture will help my students stay separated on to their own comfortable and special seats in the reading center. Organization is essential for students to be successful. These organizational items will help my students to spend more of their time in the reading center reading. The rug I chose not only invites children to this center but it goes with my decorating theme I chose for this year. I am also requesting items to help decorate the area and tie everything together such as: bulletin board paper, and reading themed pillows. This furniture will give my students comfortable seating that they will use to enjoy dreaming big and reading in the reading center!
