Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Think back to the first book series you read as a child. Do you remember the excitement of finally receiving the next instalment of the series, so that you could continue your reading adventures with your favorite characters? Our students share that same excitement and love for reading.

The classroom library is an essential part of our 3rd grade reading workshop.

It is essential that the library is stocked with exciting and diverse books at different reading levels, to meet the wide range of learning needs in our classroom.

My Project

These books will continue to excite our students as we begin our series book unit. These books will allow for students to follow their favorite character's journeys across multiple books.

As their book series characters face challenges and grow, so will our students.

Through these books, our students will develop reading strategies and become more fluid and passionate readers. We will develop classroom book clubs with these books, which will make reading exciting and fun. Students will be able to share their reading experiences with their book club members while discussing the story as well as reading strategies that they used to master their books.
