Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am blessed to teach little 5 and 6 year old minds. They are very inquisitive about school and come to school every day with a smile. In my classroom we treat each other like family and have respect for one another. My students come from many family settings and are culturally diverse, therefore when they come into my classroom I want them to feel at home and be able to flourish to become a great citizen for our school and classroom.

My Project

This new rug will help enhance our cozy reading corner. My students will have more space to sit when they read books in our classroom library. My students are learning how to read and explore the many types of literature and with this new rug it will also be an incentive to use because of the bright colors of this crayon rug. This will help them enjoy books comfortably.

It will also provide a sitting area or working area for our flexible seating.Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them.

During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them.
