Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are sixth, seventh, and eighth graders in a dual-language school. My school is a special place and a wonderful community. Teachers and students alike are happy to be in school and are excited and eager to learn.

After a year of digital learning, I'm excited to get paper books back in my students' hands.

I gave away a lot of books when COVID hit, so my library needs a revamp.

My Project

When COVID hit and throughout, I encouraged my students to read by sending books home with them and dropping books off at their houses. I did not get a lot of them back, which is why I need some replacement titles. Additionally, there are many new titles that I would like to add to my classroom to keep my library current.

A lot of kids just went almost two years without reading independently, so I hope these new books help motivate my students to get back to their love of reading.
