This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a school that rehabilitates high school drop-outs in the Bronx, NY. Every day, we read. Every night, I ask them to read at home. Keeping our classroom library stocked with the most popular titles ensures we keep up this integral practice. These books represent some of the areas that are most in demand in my classroom library. Especially my young male readers are looking for books on sports and financial literacy. Help me keep their reading interest on fire by ensuring their interests outside of school are reflected in books!

Ms. Keener New Directions Secondary School Grades 9-12
