My Students

Seven and 8 year old children are smart, funny, and curious! The students at my school come from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds, mirroring the close knit neighborhood around our school. My students are serious about learning and I want to support them in every way possible.

We use the Primary Years Program in IB School.

Each grade, has six units of inquiry that promotes global mindedness and positive character traits. Our mission is to empower future citizens of the world.

My Project

These books will make a difference in our class by adding new and relevant titles the students are wanting to read. The Time Trio books will be used for a specific book group. They are about three kids who venture back in time to solve various mysteries throughout history.

Our current unit of inquiry is How We Express Ourselves.

We are studying how the cinderella story is told throughout different cultures. We have read African, Japanese, Native American, Mexico, and Korean versions. Now it is time for the traditional story made famous by Disney and I have found it is not in our library.

The remaining titles will help several reading groups review and practice phonics in a fun and interesting ways.
