Remember those books you loved as a young child? "Where the Wild Things Are", "Horton Hears a Who", and "Olivia"? My students love those books and many more. But we lack a classroom library and listening center where they can enjoy them.
My kids are full of energy and so smart!
They love their classroom and their classmates. They work hard and play hard. I cannot wait to watch them blossom into amazing students. They are all capable of wonderful things, and it is my mission to make sure they walk into an environment everyday where they can succeed.
My Project
Our class will primarily use the books during center times (read to self, read to others, listening center). We will also use the books during our shared reading time every day and throughout the year for the many different themes we enjoy. These books will aid my students in becoming strong readers, developing literacy skills, and nurturing a love for reading. My students need an I Can Read book set, Curious George and Dr. Seuss titles.
Our class library is small and sparse right now.
These books will go a long way in improving our class. My students will be able to read what they want. They will be able to experience many different books. These books will also help me spark that love of reading that I have in my own life in the lives of my students.
