My Students

This year I will be teaching a third grade ICT class consisting of 30 students.

The makeup of this classroom consist of some special needs learners along with general education learners. Since there are many different levels of learners in my classroom having a library with many different levels would be beneficial to all of my students. This leveled library will give students the opportunity to choose a book that they are interested in. Also students will be able to read these books on their own, which will build their confidence as readers. I hope with your help my students love and ability to read will soar this year!

My Project

These books will become our classroom library. Each student will receive a book bag on the first day of school. The students will take turns visiting the library and they will choose 2 books that are just right for them. The students will place their books in their bag for protection and keep them in their desk. During independent reading time the students will have the opportunity to read their chosen book. When the students are done reading their book they will be able to swap it for a different book in the library. This leveled library would provide us with 50 new and exciting books for 30 students to share during the school year.

Donating to this project will help students reading ability progress.

Having many different options of books to choose from is important in a classroom, so that all students can become excited to read. Reading is the basis for success and we want all of our children to become successful!
