My Students

Our first and second graders are energetic, enthusiastic, and super social. They are so enjoyable to be around. They love being involved in the learning process and want to succeed.

Learning never stops!

Our school is located in northwest Milwaukee. Most of our families struggle with poverty, which creates difficulties in having supplies needed for learning at school and home. Our goal is to provide an equitable education for each student by using DonorsChoose to be able to have the resources and supplies needed for them to reach their full potential.

My Project

As we continue to build our green classroom, we are in need of materials to help support growing plants throughout the school year. We are requesting a hydroponics growing system, seeds, and sponges so we can continue to grow food right in classroom.

Gardening provides not only the opportunity to learn about plant life cycles, but teaches responsibility, cause and effect, drawing conclusions, and observation skills.

Also, activities like gardening have been proven to reduce anxiety in children and build confidence. Our students love science and growing plants. This project would just expand their opportunity to learn more about the world around them.
