Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at an elementary school where eighty-three percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students come from low income homes.

The majority of my students come from another country and are new to the ways of our education system.

A large number of students are learning how to speak and read English for the first time. I will start the school year off with at least fifty fourth grade students and without a doubt my numbers will climb.

My Project

Centers is all the focus these days. Having children working in groups, interacting with each other, conversing and sharing their ideas to a problem. Along with flexible seating that allows children that are usually unable to sit still an outlet to channel their excess energy.

Having a new table and four ball chairs will allow my students a nice area to work at considering most of our class room furniture is broken or unsteady.

The students will have a place where they can gather and enjoy working on projects together. A designated area where they can be comfortable, and interact with each member.
