Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom are 7th-grade special education students. They have intellectual, sensory, and emotional impairments aided by inclusion in a small classroom setting. Many of my students come from low-income backgrounds, many of whom come from single-parent homes, while some live with grandparents and relatives. My student population comes with IEPs, which require individualized interventions to help all students succeed. My students struggle with varying levels of learning challenges and concepts. This year our goals are to build confidence in our foundational reading skills and become more engaged with our learning. Success is a requirement instead of an option when expectations are set high, and excuses are left at the door.

My Project

In our changing school system, things need to be paperless now. For this to happen, up-to-date and accurate technology is necessary for every school classroom. An iPad will help create and monitor my students' in-class assessments throughout the school day.

My students will be able to use it to complete digital assessments, and we will use it for math on the board by displaying from their seats to stay socially distant.

By having this small device accessible throughout the school day, I will monitor progress, input grades, and even upload my screen to the board using Apple TV for when my students need help with a task! Students will benefit from this small device.
