This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom hygiene closet plans to provide students with access to personal care items, including deodorant, sanitary pads, hair ties, lotion, floss, and more. Students often lack access to these items and ask for them regularly-this donation request aims to support the well-being and self-esteem of students, ensuring they have the basic necessities to maintain personal hygiene.

Many students face challenges in accessing basic personal hygiene products, which can negatively impact their confidence, attendance, and performance in school.

The lack of access to these essential items can lead to embarrassment, discomfort, and a decrease in classroom participation. By establishing a classroom hygiene closet, I aim to create a supportive environment where all students can focus on their education without the added stress of unmet hygiene needs.

Project Description: This project requests includes sanitary pads, deodorant, Band-Aids, hair ties, sunblock, lotion, combs, paper towels, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, shoe cleaner, flossers, clips for all hair types, and other hygiene products that students have regularly requested in the past. Students will be able to access these items at any time, and are free to take what they need.
