Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My self-contained Life Skills class is made up of 1st-3rd grade students who love to learn through play. I would love to provide them with an opportunity to practice their Social Skills, Money Skills and most importantly Life Skills that will help them when they are older.

With your help, I will be able to provide the students a chance to practice their Social, Money and Life Skills with a Grocery Market Play and Learn Center that will consist of a shopping basket, shelf with a variety of foods to shop from and a Checkout Counter with a uniform, cash register and microphone to call for assistance.

Studies show that children learn best through play. Help me provide an environment that will encourage the students to practice their Social and Life Skills through role play, use new vocabulary acquisition and practice their money skills by having a fun time learning through play with their classmates.
