Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at the first bilingual public school in the nation. The population at my school is diverse and more than 75% of the students are on free and reduced-priced lunch. All the students at my school are immersed in our dual language program. My students are bilingual, bi-cultural and bi-literate.

I have a class filled with diverse, talented students in a variety of academic levels.

I teach them to be independent thinkers and show kindness to one another. I enjoy teaching through games and using technology.

My Project

These materials will help the students maintain social distance while working in small groups and transitioning around the classroom. Students love working together and need the proper tools to do so in our current climate.

Making safe spaces for students to work together is important.

Many students have not been to an actual school building and need all the tools available to them.

Students will use the rolling carts to store their materials to travel around the classroom. The furniture and carts will keep the classroom environment safe while social distancing.
