Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At our school, we have a wonderful variety of learning styles, nationalities, and personalities. The one thing they all have in common is that they love learning and exploring.

The classroom environment and arrangement is very important.

A variety of materials are needed for the children to be able to carry out their visions. The classroom is always buzzing with activity and providing materials and support is the way to inspire our children to problem solve, role play, communicate, and develop the all important social emotional skills they will need as adults.

My Project

I have inherited a 30 year old PreK classroom. Unfortunately, Pre-k doens't get funding to replace old furniture. Some of the pieces in my class are literally falling apart. To create a clean, organized and safe envirinment for my students I feel the need to purchase some new furniture to store and display learning materials in a manner that is conducive to learning.

In a classroom with 4 year old children all materials need to be at eye level and within safe reach.

The shelves must be low so the teachers can see all areas of the classroom for supervision. The storage bins should be organized so children can see the materials and get inspired to engage with them. I am asking for these special shelves to make the most out of my room arrangement. It is essential to have organized play areas with materials neatly displayed for children to be able to use them and easily return them to the proper place for the next child.
