Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
It is that time of year! A brand new school year approaches. It is time to restock with classroom essentials for teaching. Some of the most basic school supplies for classrooms can make a huge impact on student learning. For example, some of the items that I have included is chart paper and makers. These items are used almost daily to create anchor charts for students that can be used as a resource for learning.
The creation of anchor charts for students is a powerful strategy.
Students can refer to them when they are learning independently, in partners, or in group. They help to retain information too! This is the case for the sentence strips too. We use those for key vocabulary in all subjects. Students get so excited when they hear one of the key vocabulary words that has already been posted on the wall.
With these materials and others such as notebooks and paper, while they may seem simple, can make a big impact.
